Health Security, MS

The MS in Health Security program prepares future leaders for the activities, both proactive and reactive, necessary to strengthen the Nation’s health security and to minimize the danger and impact of acute public health crises, including epidemics/pandemics. Students will learn to apply scientific principles to prevent, detect, protect against, mitigate, and respond to health security challenges. Students will further gain the skills needed to implement evidence-based and population-based interventions to protect communities, particularly vulnerable populations, from natural hazards and accidental or intentional health threats. This MS offering is intended for both pre-professionals and mid-career individuals. Although not required, students typically have a background in a life or physical science. This program is offered via on campus and online modalities.
