This program was designed to meet the Louisiana Department of Education’s requirements for an Add-On Endorsement to a teaching certificate. In addition, this program was developed to aid admission to teaching abroad programs. such as the Peace Corps, Fulbright, and JET/EPIK. It follows both Louisiana Department of Education guidelines and the TESOL International Association’s standards for Short-Term TEFL-TESL programs, which consists of 12 credit hours/ 240 contact hours including a minimum of 20 hours of practicum with 10 hours observing and 10 hours teaching.
Students must complete all four courses at Tulane with a B or higher to be eligible for an Endorsement Letter from the TESL program
