Public Administration (Public Health Concentration), Master of Public Administration

The School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) and the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (WSPH) offer a 36 credit MPA with Public Health concentration. This option is provided for MPA students who seek deeper knowledge in Public Health. Upon completion of requirements, students will be awarded an MPA degree awarded by SoPA and a Public Health Concentration awarded by the WSPH.
The MPA requires a minimum of 36 credit hours and a cumulative grade point average of 3.000. Program requirements can be found in the table below.

The MPAD 7905 Residency takes place annually and participation is required for completion of the MPA degree. Students may complete the residency at any time in their matriculation.

As part of their electives, students may choose to take at least four courses from one of four graduate certificates or from the areas of concentration. Students who complete all of the requirements for the graduate certificates may apply those credits toward the master’s degree. See certificate/concentration lists for elective.
