The 18-credit Minor in Human Resource Development allows undergraduate students to complement their current majors with knowledge that will enhance their chosen careers. The minor prepares students to forecast, plan, recruit, compensate, appraise, and otherwise manage human resources within business organizations in compliance with applicable laws and ethical constructs

The Minor in Human Resource Development prepares adult learners to forecast, plan, recruit, compensate, appraise, and otherwise manage human resources within business organizations in compliance with applicable laws and ethical concepts.
Human Resources Development Minor Learning Objectives
On completion of the Human Resources Development Minor curriculum, graduates will have the knowledge and skills to:
- Identify and apply the moral and ethical principles, social responsibilities, and laws that govern business entities, transactions, and managerial decisions.
- Identify the primary functions of managers and their roles within a business organization.
- Describe the importance of human resources and their effective management in organizations.
- Identify and apply the laws governing the relationships of employees and employers in the workplace.
- Evaluate and apply the laws and concepts governing the compensation of and provision of benefits to employees.
- Prepare an employee selection strategy for a specific job.
- Analyze and apply the key concepts and rules related to administering the elements of human resource performance and productivity.
