Additional Information on the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Sciences
The major in environmental biology provides understanding of biological processes among populations, communities, and ecosystems. Majors must complete seven core courses totaling 23 credits, three elective courses totaling 11 credits, and the capstone requirement for a combined total of 38-39 credits.
All students majoring in environmental biology complete core courses including:
Elective courses in the department of ecology and evolutionary biology must include two laboratory-field courses.
And either environmental chemistry or the first semester of organic chemistry with lab
Courses in statistics and physics are highly recommended but are not required.
