Prior or concurrent study in calculus, or approval of instructor is strongly recommended. A calculus-based course in classical physics designed primarily for physical science majors. Newtonian mechanics, thermodynamics, and classical wave motion are studied. Emphasis is on understanding basic principles and solving problems. Laboratory is included. The laboratory includes a review of techniques for problem solving, as well as experiments in classical physics.
